Interstate Man

I like to drive my car play guitar with the radio slap on cruise control and slide to the middle of the seat like it better in the dark
Cause not so many folks think I'm a dangerous fool it takes a wide wide road to accommodate me steering with my knees
I drive a Monte Carlo named after a country the size of my backyard it's a '78 goin' on '63 and agin' fast
Hesitates when I give it gas and theses plastic bumpers they just don't last I'm rough on my ride
There ain't a mean enough machine for me

Interstate man that's what I am I'm just tryin' to take some boredom out this level land
I been readin' and writin' and rollin' my philosophy

I love the man who invented the reflectors that stick out of the highway cause when i'm reading my story
Baby that's my only warnin' that I'm outta my lane them 18 wheelers push a lot of wind I normally mark my place I just let 'em in
