After Mother
What does a young boy have to grow up grow out of his father's arms
With hugs and kisses comes a time after mother
When a boy and his father have only each other
Hope to be able to crawl back into those arms holding life
And beaming love
You get older you only get to cry with your father a last time or two
You comfort him he comforts you
Both feel that someone missing his lover she's my mother
And draw a little closer to keep away the cold
There's a warm spot where she used to lay kept warm by thinking of her
Day to day
But we have to move on cause she did
Or be left alone replete with memories that hurt and haunt you
Not the kind you know she'd want you to recall
On her behalf
Refrain
Say it must have been a year ago maybe it was three maybe it was ten
I don't know it seems like only yesterday
Refrain
Keep away the cold
