Airplane Song

A man sitting on a plane reading the Bible

Goes down at the same rate as the man drinking gin

Both of them praying for survival

Both of them knowing for a fact

That it will end

Some people have the sense to run a sacred marathon

With somebody they discover early on

Me I guess I'll only know the sprints

Cause early on I's getting off

And now I am getting thrown (repeat)

There's no doubt a lifetime drinking from the same old cup

Saves a lot of dishes and frees a body up

There is no doubt a lifetime of unconditional love

Is something that I'd love to pass to my three sons

But my boys know commitment can be a one way street

Cause they've seen it come and go

When it didn't come to me

But I still pray they understand it's all still worth the pain

To take a vow and live it till it comes to an end (2x)

Man a man sitting on a plane reading the Bible

Goes down at the same rate as the man drinking gin

Both of them praying for survival

Both of them knowin for a fact

That they have sinned

Both of them know it for a fact

That it will end
